KidlyPicks helps parents make informed choices for their children by doing one thing well: reading the official safety record so you don’t have to.
For every product category we cover, we pull the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s public recall database and its SaferProducts.gov consumer incident reports — and we tell you what’s in them. Which models have been recalled. What parents actually reported going wrong, and how often. Which problems outlived a recall because the affected units are still moving through hand-me-downs and resale.
How we work — and what we don’t claim
We are a small editorial operation, not a testing lab. We do not hands-on test most of the products we write about, and we will never pretend otherwise. When we haven’t used something, we say so plainly on the page.
What we do instead:
- Official safety data. Every recall and incident figure we publish comes from CPSC’s public-domain databases, cited with the recall number and date so you can check it yourself.
- Manufacturer specifications. Prices, age ranges, weight limits and dimensions come from the manufacturer’s own product pages — not from a competitor’s article, and not from memory. We re-verify them when we update a page.
- An honest read. We tell you what the record suggests, where the evidence is thin, and when a product simply isn’t right for you.
Our safety data refreshes weekly. When a new recall touches a product we’ve written about, that article gets flagged for update — which is why our pages carry a “Last verified” date, and why you can follow every new recall on our Kids’ Product Recall Watch.
Who writes this
KidlyPicks is written by our editorial team, sometimes under a pen name. Whichever name is on the page, the standard behind it is the same: every safety figure is cited to the CPSC record, every spec is checked against the manufacturer’s own page, and we never claim to have tested something we haven’t.
How we make money
KidlyPicks earns commission through the Amazon Associates programme. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Affiliate links never influence what the safety data says — the recall record is the recall record, and a product that fails it gets written up as failing it.
